Etchells 1066. This one is bad, but will be ok in the end...

The rear bulkhead and half bulkhead at the rudder post have been removed to give access to the damaged area. The rear bulkhead is damaged, and will need to be replaced.

With the bulkheads out and the old tabbing ground smooth with the dustfree grinder, the hull form had to be braced in place in order to tie in the long deck/hull crack.

Some tricks of the trade have been omitted.

After the hole is filled with fiberglass matching the contour of the hull, and the entire section is laminated using fiberglass and polyester resin and then vacuum bagged.

More fiberglass is added to the outside so that shaping can begin, and the inside skin, consisting of more fiberglass and polyester resin and vacumm bagged down with the roving on the outside, to match the existing laminated finish.

The gunwale edge as well as the entire repair is solid fiberglass. Very little filler was used to make it fair.

Matching color gelcoat was made up, color adjusted, sprayed on to the hull, sanded and polished.

Matching grey gelcoat was made up, color adjusted, and applied to the interior.

The hardware was re-installed and the boat delivered.

On Budget and On Time
